The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating an armed robbery at a restaurant in Pembroke.
On March 24, around 11:45 a.m., police responded to a robbery at a restaurant in the 200 block of Pembroke Street West.
“An unknown individual entered the store, brandished a firearm, and demanded cash from an employee,” reads an OPP press release. “The employee was not injured, and the person fled the scene with a quantity of cash. They were last observed on foot, eastbound on Pembroke Street West.”
The person of interest is described as a white male with a medium build, approximately six feet tall, wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and a red hat.
“The individual is considered armed and a risk to public safety. If seen, call 9-1-1 and do not approach,” reads the release.
Police released a photo of the suspect.
The UOV OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation with the assistance of OPP’s Forensic Identification Services (FIS) unit and OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).
