
The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating after a firearm was discharged by an unknown person at an apartment building in Petawawa.
On March 22, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., members of the UOV OPP responded to a report of a firearm being discharged in an empty hallway of an apartment building in the 0-100 block of Wolfe Avenue in the Town of Petawawa. No one was injured and the person responsible departed on foot in an unknown direction.
Police are seeking to identify a person of interest in this case. The individual is described as follows:
- White male in his 30’s, thin build, approximately 178 cm (5’10”)
- Wearing a dark coloured medical mask, dark jacket and dark pants
The individual is considered armed and a risk to public safety. If seen, call 9-1-1 and do not approach.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of OPP’s Renfrew County Crime Unit, Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO), and OPP’s Forensic Identification Services (FIS) Unit.
