Local healthcare benefits from Bosco fundraiser Submitted by the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation
St. John Bosco Catholic School in Barry’s Bay, recently made a generous donation to the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation (SFVHF), raised through a student-led Candy Gram fundraiser held on Halloween and Valentine’s Day. The school council raised $400, which was distributed to three local causes.
$200 was donated to the Growing Together Emergency Department Redevelopment Campaign for St. Francis Memorial Hospital. The remaining donation was split between Valley Manor, to provide birthday presents for residents, and Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care, to cover their loan cupboard rental fee.
The donation reflects the school’s commitment to giving back to the community and supporting those in need. SFVHF Communications & Fundraising Officer Christine Hudder thanked everyone involved in the fundraiser.
