The Garrison Petawawa Fire Department has announced that prescribed burning operations will take place in select areas of the Garrison Petawawa Range and Training area this spring. The burns are essential for reducing fire hazards ahead of the hot summer months.
During the next three months, the public may notice smoke or smell it coming from the area. Short-term air quality changes may occur, but there is no need for concern. Trained firefighters will be on-site to manage and control the burning operations.
