The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce that its 3rd Annual Community Challenge for Healthcare has raised over $25,000 and counting to support the Pembroke Regional Hospital (PRH). Throughout March, local individuals, groups, and businesses participated in the challenge by becoming “Healthcare Challengers,” using creative and competitive ways to fundraise for the hospital.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support from our sponsors, including Frank Carroll Financial, Roseburg Forest Products, Knights of Columbus, Stephanie Hughes – Xogingy, MacEwen Petroleum, Dr. Richard Johnson, myFM, and The Brick Pembroke,” said Leigh Costello, Community Fundraising Specialist. “Their generosity made this event possible.”
Local businesses and individuals also took part in the challenge by hosting their own fundraising events. Notable participants included Nick’s Chicken House and Pizzeria, Mike’s Hardware Doors and So Much More, FN Good Food, The Nook Creperie, The Kitchen Eatery, Wilkies Fresh Baked Bread, David Minns Insurance, and Gayle Schultz.
The funds raised from this event will go toward purchasing vital medical equipment, such as a new surgical light for one of PRH’s operating rooms. “We are overwhelmed by the continued support from our community,” said Roger Martin, Executive Director of the PRH Foundation. “This equipment will make a significant impact on our surgical team’s ability to provide excellent care.”
