Effective April 29, the County of Renfrew will permanently reduce the speed limit on CR 51 (Petawawa Boulevard) to 70 km/h. This change will apply from the intersection of Golf Course/B-Line Roads to Silke Drive within the Town of Petawawa. The initiative aims to enhance road safety and reduce traffic-related incidents in the area.
In addition to the speed limit reduction, a Community Safety Zone will be established near Pine View Public School. This zone is designed to protect students and pedestrians by encouraging drivers to adhere to the new speed regulations and exercise increased caution.
The County of Renfrew emphasizes the importance of these changes for the well-being of the community. Motorists are urged to comply with the new speed limit and be mindful of the Community Safety Zone to ensure a safer environment for all residents.
