Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment responded to a serious two-vehicle crash in the Town of Petawawa on April 23.
The collision happened around 6:10 p.m. at the intersection of Doran Road and Black Bay Road. Two pickup trucks were involved in the crash, and all three people—both drivers and a passenger—were taken to hospital with minor injuries by the County of Renfrew Paramedic Service.
According to the police investigation, one of the pickup trucks on Black Bay Road did not stop at the intersection and hit another pickup truck that was driving on Doran Road. As a result, a 35-year-old man from Deep River has been charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
Both vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed away from the scene.
Police are reminding drivers to stay alert and obey all traffic signs, especially at intersections, to prevent accidents like this one.
