ATV and trails for off-road vehicles in Renfrew County are closed until May 1st. The President of the Renfrew County ATV Club, Teresa Hebb, tells myFM the land needs to dry out more to prevent damage to the trail system.
While Hebb says the ATV Club has no jurisdiction to keep riders off crown land, they encourage people to stay off until the first of May to help sustain the trails.
Once the trail system opens, if you encounter any problems, you can report it on the Renfrew County ATV Club website with the hazard identification form.
You can buy a trail pass or learn how to become a member of the RCATV club online. Annual trail passes are $150, a 3-day pass is $55 and a single day pass is $25.
With the recent sale of the CN line or “B-trail”, the Renfrew County ATV Club now has to remove all signs and club assets by the end of April. With the important section of trail sold off, riders can no longer access hotels in Pembroke such as the Best Western and Holiday Inn from the local trail system. Discussions are underway to see about alternate options and routes.
