This week is Emergency Preparedness Week in the City of Pembroke, and Fire Chief Scott Selle tells myFM the theme for this year is “Be Prepared for Anything.”
Chief Selle encourages residents to use this week to go over their plans in the event of an emergency.
Your prep doesn’t have to be elaborate, but there are three steps that will protect you in a wide number of emergencies.
The emergency kit should have enough food, water, and supplies for yourself and your family for 72 hours.
Knowing the risks, having a plan ready, and keeping a well-stocked emergency kit will help you make the right decisions when an unexpected event occurs.
Chief Selle adds you can always reach out to the Fire Department if you have any questions, as well as go to the Canadian Government’s Emergency Preparedness website.
