Support is being requested for a new health hub in Cobden.
The County of Renfrew Health Committee is requesting the Warden send a letter of support for the proposed capital project.
Last year (June 2021), ConnectWell submitted a request to build a health hub to address the lack of space and services in Cobden and the surrounding area.
ConnectWell Community Health in Renfrew County is formerly known as the Whitewater Bromley Community Health Centre.
An endorsement letter for Stage 1 of the work on the health hub was received from Ontario Health East back in December.
ConnectWell is currently investigating options related to the health hub concept to ensure local residents are provided with optimal care.
Director of Emergency Services and Chief Paramedic for the County of Renfrew, Michael Nolan, says partners in the health system are innovating, looking at the future demands and reshaping the way they service the population.
County Councillor and Deep River Reeve Glenn Doncaster expressed his support for the project talking about the integrated suite of primary care that would be offered.
