Residents in Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke didn’t flood to the polls as part of advanced voting for the upcoming provincial election.
Returning elections officer for the riding, Lewis MacDonald, says there was roughly 13 percent of eligible voters who cast ballots as part of advance voting.
MacDonald says that’s fairly consistent with previous elections.
While many of the advance voting locations have closed, you can still cast a ballot early in Pembroke at the east-end mall, or in Renfrew across from Walmart where Mark’s Work Wearhouse used to be, until Wednesday night.
Election day is Thursday, June 2nd, 2022 and polls will be open from 9:00am to 9:00pm.
There are seven candidates running in Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke including; Anna Dolan of the Green Party, Oliver Jacob with the Ontario Liberal Party, Ontario Party candidate Kade MacWilliams, New Blue candidate Thomas O’Conner, Kurt Stoll with the NDP, Ontario Provincial Confederation of Regions Party candidate Murray Reid and PC Party of Ontario candidate John Yakabuski.
