The City of Pembroke is getting ready for Canada Day celebrations.
Recreation Programmer Sarah Frederick says opening ceremonies start at noon at the amphitheater followed by Aimee Bailey leading the Circle Turtle Lodge at 1:00 p.m. There will be live music and entertainment throughout the day at the amphitheater including performances from Junkyard Symphony, Gillan Rutz, Adam Fieldhouse, All Canadian Surf Band and headliner Andrew Hyatt.
Frederick says Waterfront Park (the Pembroke Marina) will have bouncy castles, a small animal petting zoo, inflatables and water activities from Ry-J’s, interactive games, displays, a trail ride and more between 12:00pm and 4:00pm.
The Canada Day celebrations in Pembroke will wrap up with the fireworks show at Riverside Park starting at 10:00pm. Frederick says you can watch the fireworks from the Marina or Riverside Park, but adds you will probably get the best view from the soccer fields at Riverside.
This is the first time the City of Pembroke has been able to offer in-person Canada Day activities since 2019 after cancellations in 2020 and moving online in 2021 due to COVID-19.
