Pinnacle Haven Farm outside of Renfrew will be one of the host sites for the first ever Farms Open event in Renfrew County. Co-Owner Shanna Armstrong says they will have someone on-site spinning wool and her husband Tyler will be doing some sheep sheering demonstrations.
Armstrong says they have 150 ewes at Pinnacle Haven Farm on Garden of Eden Road near Renfrew. After purchasing the farm in 2010, Armstrong says they took over the sheep genetics that date back to the 1960’s from family members.
Armstrong says Pinnacle Haven Farm will also be doing tours, feature a mini-market and have locally raised lamb and chicken for sale. Armstrong says the Farms Open event is a great opportunity to show people where there food comes from and to experience what life is like on a farm.
You can check out the Pinnacle Haven Farm website or social media pages to purchase products and for contact information. Pinnacle Haven Farm also features products at the Deep River and Renfrew Farmers Markets.
The first Farms Open event in Renfrew County is planned on Sunday, September 18th from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Other host sites include Mapleside Sugarbush, Forest Cove Alpacas, Shulist Family Farm, Sernoskie’s Tree Farm, Alder Creek Farm, Cardaleacres, Ottawa Valley Farm to Fork and Calabogie Rustic Farm Market.
