Chéla Breckon is running for a seat on Pembroke City Council.
Breckon is a local business owner with a communications and marketing background.
As a consultant who has worked in municipal spaces over the years, Breckon says she’s seen how politics work from a third party perspective and wants to get involved to help lead the city from within.
Breckon is focusing on four key areas.
Representation: Women, entrepreneurs, youth, Indigenous leaders and people with diverse backgrounds.
Reputation: Promote Pembroke and everything positive about the city.
Responsiveness: Listening to the concerns and needs of local residents.
Fiscal Responsibility: Stretching dollars and finding new sources of revenue.
Breckon is running alongside Dorian Pearce and Jane Wood and if all three are elected, they would represent half of the city council vote to move ideas and projects forward.
Breckon says communities grow as a group, adding all three running mates bring a different lens and are ready to benefit the community on day one.
