Campbell’s Bay opened it’s new park on Friday, dedicated to the person who was key to getting it done.
Maurice Beauregard Park, located along the Ottawa River, is named after the current Mayor of Campbell’s Bay.
According to the municipality’s Executive Director, Sarah Bertrand, he was heavily involved with the creation of the park, as he wanted to create a safe space for local children to practice sports and leisure
Beauregard was diagnosed with metastatic cancer last spring, and council decided unanimously to dedicate it in his honour by naming it after him.
The project is part of a large revitalization of the urban center of Campbell’s Bay, and took nearly three years to complete.
