The Department of National Defence has provided an update into the Chinook Helicopter crash back on June 20th. Captain David Domagala, 32, of Woodstock, Ontario, and Captain Marc Larouche, 53, of Amos, Quebec were travelling with two other crew members, doing a training mission shortly after midnight when the helicopter crashed into the Ottawa River near Garrison Petawawa. DND said the helicopter started to go down during the training exercise and was turning left. The report says the chopper hit the Ottawa River with high energy. The helicopter was eventually removed from the Ottawa River and DND says the investigation is ongoing and is focusing on human, technical, and environmental factors.
