A Pembroke resident is now facing Criminal Code charges, including arson, after a diligent investigation conducted by members of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP. The incident unfolded on the morning of September 25, 2023, just before 11:00 am, when officers responded to a distress call regarding a garage fire on Cecelia Street in Pembroke.
The Pembroke Fire Department swiftly arrived at the scene to suppress the flames, limiting the damage to the garage to minor levels. However, upon closer inspection, investigators discovered that not only had damage been inflicted on the residence, but also that the garage fire had been intentionally set.
In connection with these disturbing findings, 36-year-old Blaze Leduc was apprehended on September 27, 2023. Leduc now faces multiple charges under the Criminal Code, including arson with property damage, mischief under $5000, and failure to comply with probation. Authorities are continuing their investigation into this incident, and the accused is scheduled to appear before the court to address the charges brought against them.
