Two Pembroke residents are facing serious charges after a dispute in the City of Pembroke. Last Tuesday (November 7th) Uppper Ottawa Valley OPP responded to a threat-involving-weapon incident at a residence on Hincks Street. Police arrested two individuals at the scene, seizing a prohibited edged weapon and what officers believe to be a quantity of fentanyl. Jonathan Wayne Burgess, age 45 of Pembroke, has been charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, failure to comply, and possession of fentanyl. Benjamin Dalton Leclaire, age 27 of Pembroke, has been charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, possession of a prohibited device, three counts of failure to comply and one of possession of fentanyl. Both accused remain in custody until their next court appearance on Wednesday November 15th.
