The Pembroke Lumber Kings have tied their season-high in wins from last season, and it’s not even Christmas yet. After falling 3-0 to the Rockland Nationals in the second period, the Kings were able to answer at 6:49 when Eric Barnard netted his third of the year after a missed play by the goaltender. Assistant Captain Ryan McNally would later score on a two-on-one rush late in the second to bring the game to within one. Cam Hicklin and Barnard would add assists. Vital Dinis continued his point streak by tying the game at 9:29 of the third, on a sniper shot at the top of the crease. John Takos and Easton Penna would assist on the goal. With under five minutes to play, Sutton Murray would net his first as a Lumber King on a rebound to give Pembroke their first lead of the game, and eventually prove to be the winner. Neither team had any success with the man advantage. Rockland going 0-3 and Pembroke going 0-2. Star Netminder Kevin Jones was the difference maker for Pembroke, making 32, key saves in the win. Pembroke sits one point out of second place in the Robinson Division after only playing 18 games. The Lumber Kings will be back in action on Thursday night in Cornwall when they take on the Colts. Game time is 7:30 and that’s a broadcast game here on myFM.
