A late trade deadline deal was made last night between arguably the biggest rivalry in the Central Canada Hockey League. The Pembroke Lumber Kings traded the rights of Issac Enright, a former first-round pick of the Ontario Hockey League to the Renfrew Wolves in exchange for forwards Hunter McKnight, Jayson Alegria, and Mikayil Kahriman. All young players with plenty of potential. McKnight, an Ottawa native is an ’06 and put up 8 points in 21 games with the Wolves this season along with 43 penalty minutes. Alegria, from New Rochelle, NY is one of the older players now on the squad. He’s recorded 13 points in 31 games this season in Renfrew. Lastly, Kahriman is another young forward from Kanata. He’s registered 10 points in 26 games in Renfrew. Head Coach Alex Armstrong says the move not only helps the club heading into playoff season this year but also lays a foundation for next year.
Going the Wolves’ way is local boy Issac Enright who spent time with the Kings back in 2018/2019 before being drafted into the OHL, where he spent time with the Niagara Ice Dogs and Guelph Storm. Last season with the Storm, Enright put up three points in 36 games in the regular season. In playoff time, Issac tallied 2 points in 5 games played.
