A traffic stop in Pembroke turned out to be a major arrest for the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP. Just before 3am on Saturday, police pulled over a vehicle on Pembroke Street East. The driver was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to charges stemming from an Intimate Partner Violence investigation dating to September 2023. During the arrest police seized suspected fentanyl. The 36-year-old from Pembroke now faces two counts of spousal assault, failing to attend court and possession of fentanyl. No names have been released to protect the identity of the victim.
