Officials have announced the Foresters Falls branch of the Whitewater Region Public Library is slated to close at the end of March.
The tough economic times and usage numbers are to blame for the pending closure. The township’s other two libraries will remain open.
“It is with heavy hearts that the library board voted unanimously to close after much discussion and research resulting in no other alternative, however this decision will allow for more hours open, books, programs and other resources to be available at Cobden and Beachburg branches,” reads a Whitewater Region Public Library Board statement.
Materials currently shelved at the Foresters Falls location will be moved to the other branches and the Foresters Falls librarian will continue to work at those libraries, as well.
The permanent closure will take place March 31.
