It’s smiles and hugs all around, as the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce is welcoming an intended merger with the Greater Arnprior Chamber of Commerce with a formal news release today (March 8th).
Kelly Hollihan, Executive Director of the UOVCC, advises myFM that the formal merger requires certain legal steps to be taken under under the Board of Trade Act II at the federal level, and related approvals through Corporations Canada.
The matter was discussed February 22nd at the UOVCC’s Annual General Meeting and an interim solution has been worked out.
The GACC Board is purchasing 2024 individual UOVCC memberships on behalf of those it represents, with current local president Alicia Ott named to the UOVCC Board of Directors for 2024.
Listeners will note Arnprior’s Alicia Ott is one of the presenters of a UOVCC-sponsored International Women’s Day event at the Quality Inn on Madawaska Boulevard this afternoon at 430PM.
