Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a death in Killaloe.
Police and paramedics were called to a business on Lake Street just before 6 p.m. on March 19 following a report that a man had been found dead.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say there is no indication of foul play and no concern for public safety.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to confirm the cause of death and the investigation is being done in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.
And while the cause of death is still being determined, in the press release reporting the incident, Killaloe OPP reminded the public about the Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act, which applies to anyone (including the person experiencing overdose) seeking emergency support during and overdose.
“The act protects the person who seeks help, whether they stay or leave from the overdose scene before help arrives. The act also protects anyone else who is at the scene when help arrives. If you suspect someone may be experiencing a drug overdose, or any medical emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately,” say police.
