The Town of Petawawa is pleased to announce the expansion of its Container Market program with the installation of two new 7’x7’ containers ahead of the 2024 season. This expansion brings the total number of retail units in the market to seven, further enriching the town’s unique shopping destination.
Christine Mitchell, Petawawa’s Manager of Economic Development, highlighted the opportunities the Container Market offers for local businesses and entrepreneurs. “This business market allows home-based businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists to experiment with a retail environment. Our goal is to nurture entrepreneurship and facilitate business growth,” Mitchell stated. She also mentioned that vendors have flexibility in choosing their setup schedule, whether weekly, monthly, or on a pop-in basis.
The Petawawa Container Market, located at the Kin Hut, 16 Civic Centre Road, will operate on Fridays and Saturdays from May through October, with Thursday hours added in July and August. The market will launch its season on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the opening day, vendors will be accepting food and cash donations to support the Petawawa Pantry.
