The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two individuals following a recent break and enter incident.
On June 3, 2024, at approximately 6:15 p.m., UOV OPP officers responded to a break and enter in progress at a residence on Church Street in Pembroke. The swift response resulted in the arrest of two individuals at the scene.
The suspects, identified as 54-year-old Mark Martyn, of no fixed address, and 38-year-old Derick Timothy Scott Sullivan, of Allumette Island, QC, have both been charged under the Criminal Code with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence. Additionally, Martyn faces a charge of failing to comply with probation.
Following the incident, Martyn was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on July 8, 2024. Sullivan was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the same court on June 7, 2024.
The UOV OPP continues to remind the community to report any suspicious activities to help ensure neighborhood safety.
