The person accused of stealing nearly $130,000 from 13 vulnerable sector clients in her care has owned up to it.
According to a report from the Eganville Leader, 43-year-old Amanda Foy of Killaloe has pleaded guilty in relation to theft and fraud charges from her time as an employee of the Madawaska Valley Association for Community Living.
Foy was fired in 2022 after her manager notified police about a series of cheques made out to Ms. Foy from her client’s bank accounts, and an internal audit within the MVACL reportedly discovered that $129,335 had been taken between 2014 and her termination.
The Ontario Court of Justice has adjourned the trial for eight weeks to give Foy the chance to provide restitution to the 10 remaining clients.
