The Pembroke Community Choir (PCC) is preparing for a festive season, with registration for their August/September session and upcoming Christmas concerts opening soon.
Choir Director Gerald LaRonde invites new and returning singers to register online starting August 15 at pembrokecommunitychoir.org. LaRonde is eager to welcome back former members and new voices alike as the choir gears up for its holiday performances.
Following a successful spring performance of Brahms’ Requiem, the choir will focus on a program celebrating “Christmas Past and Present.” The upcoming concerts will feature selections from past Christmas performances, popular holiday songs, and classical carols.
Early registration offers a discounted fee of $40 for adults and $25 for students (25 years and under) until August 31. After that date, fees will rise to $50 for adults and $30 for students. Payment can be made online via e-Transfer or on the first night of rehearsal. Full payment is required to receive the music package, with refunds available until September 23 for those who decide not to continue.
Rehearsals will be held at Wesley Community Church, 210 Renfrew Street, Pembroke, with access at the back of the church. Music pickup is scheduled for September 9 at 6 p.m., followed by the first rehearsal from 7 to 9 p.m. The choir’s Christmas concerts will take place at Calvin United Church, with a matinee on November 30 and an evening performance on December 1.
