The Canadian Armed Forces are set to conduct Tactical Air Landing Operation training at Deep River Airport on October 15th and 16th. This training is part of the Patrol Pathfinder course, aimed at preparing soldiers for real-life scenarios.
During this period, members of the public may notice soldiers at the airport carrying weapons. However, there will be no live ammunition or pyrotechnics involved in the exercises, ensuring safety for both soldiers and civilians.
Using non-Department of National Defence land, like the Deep River Airport, provides a more realistic and challenging training environment. This allows soldiers to gain valuable experience that prepares them to serve Canada both domestically and internationally.
By simulating these complex scenarios, the Patrol Pathfinder course helps enhance the soldiers’ skills and readiness to protect Canadian interests at home and abroad.
