It’s a tragic end to the case of a missing person whose vehicle was found in Eganville Sunday.
Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reporting that they have located the body of the person missing from Orillia who was last seen in Eganville.
“On Oct. 22, the body was located in the Bonnechere River after three days of searching,” reads an OPP press release. “Foul play is not suspected at this time.”
The individual was reported missing from Orillia Oct. 18. Patrol officers located the person’s unoccupied vehicle in an Eganville parking lot near the river on Oct. 20, after an alert was received from the automated licence plate reader.
The investigation by the UOV OPP Detachment is ongoing and is being conducted with assistance from OPP’s Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, OPP Aviation Services Unit, Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, and the Renfrew County Crime Unit. The OPP investigation is being done in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.
