On Wednesday, October 30, the Pembroke Business Improvement Area (PBIA) and the City of Pembroke will celebrate the new owners of Vogue Cleaners, located at 274 Pembroke Street West. Kristen Krieger, who purchased the business in April 2023, took over from longtime owner Grant Heubner on May 1, 2023.
Kristen, a lifelong resident of the Ottawa Valley, is dedicated to small businesses and local shopping. She expressed her excitement about acquiring this historic business, stating, “I have a passion for small business and wanted to deliver exceptional dry-cleaning services to the Valley in a friendly, fun, and efficient way.”
Since taking over, Kristen has introduced several improvements, including a new eco-friendly hydrocarbon dry cleaning machine. This upgrade allows for a quick turnaround time of one to two days and enables the cleaning of specialty items like leather. She has also enhanced the laundry services with new washers and dryers for commercial clients.
Vogue Cleaners continues to offer a range of services, including dry cleaning, leather and suede cleaning, wedding gown cleaning, commercial laundry, wash and fold service, and clothing alterations. They also provide pickup and delivery to Killaloe and Barry’s Bay.
The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and presentation at 1:00 PM, welcoming Kristen to the Pembroke business community. Residents are encouraged to join the festivities and support their local businesses.
