Canadians will honor veterans and their sacrifices through the Digital Poppy Campaign from October 25 to November 11, available at mypoppy.ca. This annual initiative, led by the Legion National Foundation (LNF), brings Canadians together from coast to coast during the Remembrance period.
The Digital Poppy Campaign returns once again to remember those who have fallen in service to Canada. Thomas Irvine, Board Chair of the Legion National Foundation, emphasized its importance, stating, “The Digital Poppy goes a long way in ensuring Canadians never forget the Fallen, all while remaining a personalized experience.” Each Digital Poppy can be dedicated to loved ones, keeping their memories alive and showing support for Canadian veterans.
A key feature of the Digital Poppy is how easy it is to share. Canadians can easily share their Digital Poppies on social media and include them in email signatures, promoting remembrance across generations.
HomeEquity Bank is the proud Presenting Sponsor of the 2024 Digital Poppy Campaign. In collaboration with the Legion National Foundation, they will present “Meeting with the Past,” an initiative encouraging Canadians to reflect on the sacrifices made by veterans during the First and Second World Wars. Katherine Dudtschak, President and CEO of HomeEquity Bank, stated, “Now in our sixth year, HomeEquity Bank is proud to serve Canada’s Veterans and their families through our involvement with the Digital Poppy campaign.”
“Meeting with the Past” invites participants to connect with stories from the past, highlighting the courage of soldiers. By donating a Digital Poppy, individuals can honor these legacies and recognize the impact of their contributions.
Canadians can create their Digital Poppy from October 25 to November 11 by visiting mypoppy.ca. Donations to the campaign come with an instant tax receipt, and the LNF expresses gratitude to all donors for their support, which helps veterans and their families.
The Legion National Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of veterans from the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Through donations and initiatives like the Digital Poppy, the Foundation supports veterans’ health and wellness, scholarships for students, and educational programs for children and youth.
