Now that the annual gun hunting season is underway in the Ottawa Valley, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reminding hunters to make safety a number one priority.
The OPP posted a number of handy hunting safety tips recently, including:
* Tell someone where you will be hunting and when you will be returning
* Wear hunter orange
* Handle firearms with care and attention at ALL times
* Never shoot unless you’re SURE of your target AND what lies beyond
* Carry a survival kit and a small first aid kit with you at all times
* Never drink alcohol while hunting
