With the cooler weather approaching nothing hits better than a big old bowl of chili. The Pembroke Fire Department is hosting its Annual Chili Fest Fundraiser on November 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fire Department in Pembroke.
Jason Kelly has been with the Pembroke Fire Department for over 13 years and currently serves as the secretary to the Pembroke Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 488 he tells myFM that he has been in charge of the Chili Fest for the past 13 years and has seen it grow over the years. He explains that this is one of their major fundraiser which supports many local charities within the community.
Kelly goes into detail regarding the charities they support. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who helps put these fundraisers together as he knows that in a small community, it is so important to give back.
He tells myFM what his favourite part is from these fundraisers.
Head out to the Pembroke Fire Department on Thursday for a $10 bowl of chili, bun, and cookies and help support local charities while enjoying a nice meal.
