This Giving Tuesday, United Way East Ontario is setting an ambitious goal to raise $150,000 to support critical community services across Ottawa, Prescott-Russell, Lanark County, and Renfrew County. The organization is tackling a wide range of pressing issues, including homelessness, mental health, addiction, social isolation, poverty, and more.
In recent years, many communities in the region have faced increasing challenges, including the housing crisis, rising opioid addictions, post-pandemic educational gaps, and skyrocketing living costs. These issues, compounded by global conflicts and growing economic disparity, have left more people than ever reaching out for support.
United Way East Ontario recognizes that these complex problems cannot be solved in isolation. The organization works to address all these challenges together by bringing communities and local organizations together to provide meaningful, sustainable support for those in need.
This Giving Tuesday, United Way is asking for the public’s help to reach their $150,000 goal. Donations made before midnight on December 3 will be matched dollar for dollar by TD, thanks to their generous sponsorship. The funds raised will go directly toward strengthening community well-being and ensuring that vulnerable individuals and families get the support they need.
Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages people to give back through donations and volunteering. United Way East Ontario is calling on residents to take this opportunity to think globally and act locally, making a tangible difference in their communities.
Join United Way this Giving Tuesday (December 3, 2024) and help create a positive change for those who need it most. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient region.
