Funny in a Good Way (FIAGW) is set to bring laughter and joy to the Ottawa Valley with its upcoming event on January 18th. The event, which will be held at the Pembroke Pentecostal Tabernacle at 7:00 p.m., is the sixth edition of this popular gathering. It coincides with the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, an event held across the Northern Hemisphere every January.
FIAGW aims to unite the community through laughter, with a focus on celebrating the “Joy of the Lord.” Unlike traditional Christian unity services, this event emphasizes fun, joy, and community spirit. Michael Gulliver, Managing Director of FIAGW, explains, “The vision has always been to provide opportunities for the church to unite with laughter and offer up good, clean fun.”
The evening will feature performances from top-level comedians, including Joey I.L.O., a seasoned professional known for his full-body comedy, impersonations, and relatable humor. Local clergy will also perform a unique comedy sketch, and Rob McKenzie, a local funnyman, will add to the entertainment. Music will be provided by the contemporary Christian band GATE47, led by Kevin Rabishaw, who promises an interactive worship experience.
As in previous years, the event will support a local cause, with all net proceeds going to Saint Vincent de Paul – Pembroke Soup Kitchen. Tickets are priced at $25 for individuals, with special pricing available for groups of four or more. For more information on ticket purchases or to learn about sponsorship opportunities, visit Ottawa Valley Christians | Funny in a Good Way | Christian Unity or contact Michael Gulliver at 613-401-5524 or via email at funnyinagoodway@outlook.com.
This event is expected to bring together people of all backgrounds to experience an evening of laughter, fun, and community support.
