Ontario homeowners can now take advantage of rebates for home renovations and appliances aimed at improving energy efficiency. The Ford government unveiled the new program on Tuesday as part of its larger $11 billion, 12-year energy efficiency plan.
Energy and Electrification Minister Stephen Lecce announced the initiative, which will offer rebates of up to 30% for home renovation projects. These projects include replacing drafty windows and doors, or installing smart thermostats to save energy.
Later this year, the program will expand to cover energy-efficient appliances like refrigerators and freezers. The rebates are designed to help homeowners reduce energy consumption and lower their utility bills, while also supporting Ontario’s efforts to improve overall energy efficiency.
This new rebates program is part of a broader commitment by the provincial government to promote sustainability and help families make their homes more energy-efficient.
