A Laurentian Hills resident is facing a driving-related Criminal Code (CC) charge following an investigation by the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment.
On the evening of January 9, OPP officers received a report about a possible impaired driver in Laurentian Hills. The police located the vehicle and driver in the Town of Chalk River and initiated an investigation.
As a result, 46-year-old Ryan Hawley of Laurentian Hills has been charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand, under the Criminal Code. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in court on February 4.
Additionally, Hawley’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
The OPP reminds the public of the serious consequences of impaired driving and urges everyone to stay safe on the roads.
