Two people have been hospitalized following a collision between a pontoon boat and ferry on the Ottawa River. The crash took place around 5:00 pm on Monday night (August 5th) with two adults, one child and a dog on board the pontoon at the time. The Ottawa Citizen reports that one adult is being treated for serious injuries and a second passenger on the pontoon boat has been transported to hospital with minor injuries. No one on board the ferry was injured. A ferry leaves the dock on each side every 20 minutes travelling between Quyon and Fitzroy Harbour. A witness posted on Facebook saying the pontoon boat struck the cable that pulls the ferry across the river. More details will be released as they become available.
