A contested race is always good for selling party memberships, and Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke New Democrats who’ve been members for at least 30 days will be able to choose between two names at a Nomination Convention to be held September 5th in Cobden at the Legion.
Eganville school teacher Eileen Jones-Whyte and Chalk River Engineer Kurt Stoll are the choices.
Stoll is a former mining engineer whose belief in the future of nuclear led him to his present post.
Jones-Whyte believes the NDP is sincere about tackling climate change and promoting a more democratic economy.
Members will register beginning at 6:30PM.
Whoever is chosen will complete a ballot which includes Cheryl Gallant, Conservative, Ruben Marini, Liberal, Green party candidate, Ian Pineau, David Ainsworth, PPC and Dan Criger, Independent.
