Since being crowned Miss Teen Canada this past summer, 19-year-old Emma Jeapes from Beachburg has been busy supporting local charities and organizations across Renfrew County. Jeapes represented Eastern Ontario at the national competition in Toronto this summer where she was up against 60 other finalists from across the country.
Jeapes has been raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer and was the top fundraiser at the Miss Teen Canada competition raising the most money for the Children’s Wish Foundation. She has recently attended events such as Neon Night in Petawawa supporting the Canadian Cancer Society, the annual Bonnechere Manor Gala, celebration for the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Oncology Unit, the Black and White Gala for the Pembroke Regional Hospital and Hockey Fights Cancer night with the Pembroke Lumber Kings.
She’s an on-ice volunteer for the Little Sens Learn to Skate Program and helps out with the Valley Warriors Program for kids with exceptional needs. She also takes part in 4-H activities and works three part time jobs. The winner of Miss Teen Canada 2019 plans to attend Carleton University in Ottawa to complete her Bachelor of Arts with honours double majoring in French and English.
