Another day in court today (Tuesday, January 21st) for an Arnprior area man facing a long list of charges including attempted murder. William or “Bill” Kirby, is facing over 20 charges, including kidnapping, sexual assault and assault causing bodily harm. The case has been moved to Superior court with a motion expected to be presented today. Pending any changes, another court date for Kirby has been set for the 10th of March. The former hockey referee in the Ottawa Valley was arrested and charged in September of 2018 after a woman was stabbed and left in a wooded area in the Township of McNab/Braeside near White Lake. Kirby was 72-years old at the time he was arrested and his charges stem from four separate victims dating back roughly 50-years.
