The State of Emergency for the Province of Ontario has been extended. This includes the closure of non-essential workplaces and restrictions on social gatherings. Effective immediately, all Ontario recreational amenities are now closed.
The Town of Petawawa has closed all outdoor recreational amenities for any shared or communal, public or private space. This closure includes but is not limited to:
- Playgrounds
- Sport fields
- Basketball and tennis courts
- Scentral Bark Off-Leash Dog Park
- Beaches
- Bike park
- Picnic areas
- Outdoor community gardens
- Park shelters
- Outdoor exercise equipment
- And other outdoor recreational amenities.
Greenspaces such as the Millennium and Algonquin trails and other connective pathways, will remain open only as walkthrough access. If you are out using the trails to bike, walk or commute between spaces, please ensure that you respect other users and maintain the recommended physical distance of 2 metres.
Ontario’s provincial parks and conservation reserves remain closed including Petawawa Terrace.
These measures are enacted so that we can work together to stop the spread of COVID-19 by staying home, practicing physical distancing, and avoid social gatherings.
