The Base Commander at Garrison Petawawa has been promoted.
Some high profile military personnel were in the Ottawa Valley for the ceremony on Monday (June 15th).
The Commander of the Canadian Army, Lieutenant-General Wayne Eyre and Canadian Army Sergeant Major, Chief Warrant Officer Stuart Hartnell both attended Garrison Petawawa to personally promote Colonel Louis Lapointe to the rank of Brigadier-General.
COVID-19 precautions and social distancing guidelines were respected throughout the ceremony.
Brigadier-General Lapointe is the 4th Canadian Division Support Group Commander.
Lapointe’s spouse, Lieutenant-Colonel Angie Lapointe, and daughters Charlotte and Chloe attended the ceremony and placed the new rank on him.
