The OPP and Royal Canadian Air Force worked together to rescue a 90-year-old male stranded on a lake in Algonquin Park.
An OPP helicopter located the overdue fisherman around 12:30 am on Thursday (August 13th), but was unable to land.
Due to the location, the marine unit was also unable to assist so provincial police called in assistance from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Trenton.
A Griffon helicopter with search and rescue technicians were deployed to the bottom of the rapids on Thistle Lake in Algonquin Park.
The 424 Squadron successfully evacuated and transported the 90-year-old boater safely to hospital.
