The Town of Petawawa is supporting the idea of developing a container market at the Norman Behnke Hall or other commercial properties.
Economic Development Officer Christine Mitchell presented a concept plan along with guidelines to council during the meeting Monday night (September 14th).
Mitchell was seeking direction from council to proceed with the next steps.
Staff have been directed to work further on the concept and attract a developer.
With the proposed container market development at the Norman Behnke location, the area would become a community hub with an access point to the Algonquin Trail for motorized traffic (ATV’s and snowmobiles), parking, nearby playgrounds and also a ball diamond.
