
Renfrew County and District Health Unit officials are concerned that a laboratory-confirmed case of COVID-19 revealed Friday afternoon may lead to multiple instances of infection.
Initially the RCDHU says there appears to have been spread amongst the members within a single-family household, and is conducting contract tracing.
Acting Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Robert Cushman notes the affected individual is a member of a tightly-knit community of thirty families- and has directed all families and persons impacted within the particular community to self-isolate until family status, exposure, and risks have been assessed by the contact tracing team at the RCDHU.
Cushman is confident that we will have an extensive assessment of the situation will be determined later today.

This will be followed by testing and further investigation over the weekend.
