A COVID-19 outbreak in Renfrew County is tied to the Beachburg Mennonite community.
The health unit has confirmed over 50 cases linked to this outbreak and to date no hospitalizations have been required.
As of this afternoon (Thursday, December 10th), there was a total of 52 active cases in the community.
The virus spread from family to family through the Riverside Parochial School located on Pappin Road.
Health unit staff say the virus was brought into the community from visitors in Southern Ontario.
The Beachburg Mennonite community is affiliated with the Markham-Waterloo Mennonites.
