Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement calling for parts of the Upper Ottawa Valley to get 10 to 15 cm of snow for tonight and Saturday. The snow will taper off to scattered flurries Saturday night. Poor winter driving conditions are expected. Motorists should consider changing their travel plans accordingly. This snow event is from a strong low pressure system forecast to track along the East coast of the US to New England this weekend.
In the lower areas of the region, weather officials are calling for even more snow. Between 15 and 20 cm is expected for the Arnprior, Renfrew and Calabogie areas.
