Some surprise vendors will be the first to open up shop tomorrow (Friday, June 18th, 2021), at the newly installed pop-up container market in Petawawa.
Economic Development Officer Christine Mitchell says vendors can operate at the “pop up shops” for one week at a time, up to three times during the season, to allow for a variety of businesses and a diverse line-up of products to be offered.
Mitchell says vendors and artisans will be open from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
She adds they are also running a contest to win a week rental for the container market.
The pop-up container market is a first in Renfrew County.
The market is located at the front parking lot/Kin Hut area of the Civic Centre in the same parking lot as the McGuire’s Donuts food truck.
Beavertails will also be on site this weekend.
Mitchell says they’ve partnered with Hyska’s Your Independent Grocer, the Rotary Club of Petawawa, PMFRC Employment Service and Western Financial Group on this initiative.
The economic development officer for the Town of Petawawa also wanted to give a shoutout to another new business opening this weekend.
Valley Creations will be opening at 1162 Victoria Street on Friday (June 18th, 2021).
